6 DAY AMAZON ADVENTURE

Day 1 - Arrival in Lima, Peru

Upon arrival to Lima, you will be greeted and driven to your selected hotel. If staying at the Lima airport Costa del Sol Ramada, you will only need to walk out the airport exit and across the street to your evening accommodations.

Day 2 - Lima to Puerto Maldonado

From Lima you will depart for Puerto Maldonado, the Amazon Rainforest. At the airport you will be picked up and taken via covered canoe to your Amazon lodge. En route keep your eyes open for the abundant wildlife living along the banks. Upon arrival you will have time to settle in before embarking on a night excursion to find caiman and other creatures of the night.

Day 3 - Jungle Canopy Exploration

Your first full day in the Amazon begins with visit to a canopy tower, a great place for viewing tropical birds. After breakfast you’ll hike to a Brazil Nut grove where you’ll learn about these native nuts, including how local communities now harvest them sustainably. Then, you’ll travel by river deeper into the Amazon to the Tambopata Research Center, where you’ll enjoy a jungle hike and spend the night.

Day 4 - Macaw Clay Lick & Rainforest Walk

Wake up early to visit the Macaw Clay Lick, the best place to see colorful parrots and macaws, and then hike a floodplain trail to experience a new type of Amazonian ecosystem. After lunch you’ll look for animals from a pond platform and conclude your day with a night hike.

Day 5 - Oxbow Lake Visit

Spend a leisurely morning sleeping in or decide to wake up early to hike one of your favorite trails. After breakfast you’ll return to Refugio Amazonas by boat. In the afternoon you’ll take a tranquil canoe ride on a nearby oxbow lake and end your day with an informative lecture back at the lodge.

Day 6 - Amazon to Lima

Wake one more time to the sounds of the jungle before enjoying a healthy breakfast and heading back to Puerto Maldonado by boat. You’ll be taken to the airport for your flight back to Lima and following international departure.
