This archipelago 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador amazes the visitor no less than it did Charles Darwin in the 1800’s when he developed his theory of evolution. The wildlife is incredibly fearless to humans, not having evolved with large predators. The Ecuadorian government in recent decades has been vigilant in the management of tourism on the Islands, which allows for the preservation for generations to come.
The Galapagos will not disappoint no matter how you visit whether on one of the many cruise ship tours or land based options. The diving in the Galapagos is some of the best in the world. Much of the marine life react as do the land animals and are unafraid of humans. The waters are protected from any commercial exploitation and the turquoise waters are a beacon to divers around the world.
